Banana Republic citizen here... huge Blues fan!

I'm working on a resource network for indies and others involved behind the scenes of the
music movement and I'm having a hard time getting a collective opinion of people's local
scene. We're using a 5 star rating system and just looking for some feedback. Is your
area nothing but wedding singers or do you have some cats ready to blow the socks off of
the world? We're building a progressive, grassroots oriented family...Please help give us
some insight so that we may attempt to benefit your locals in any way possible. Feel free
to contact me for more info. We are also seeking referrals for the hardest working
artists and networkers you know. Also, please include your exact location and the variables that you used to rate your area. Thanks much!

Hi guys!

I became a fan of Barrowman from addictively watching Torchwood! Upon discovering he can sing it seems there is no end to his talents!!

Ive recently found out he has a new album coming out later this year! yay!

Are there any other John Barrowman fans out there that could share some info about his music??

Jen!

Hi all
I'm currently learning guitar and was wondering what you guys would suggest for finding live music around me, besides by chance!

I sometimes stumble across things which is great, but I'd love to know what happens round me. How do you guys do it?

Nick

I used to go through spells when I fell out of love with listening to music. It could last for a few months at a time, where I just didn't feel inspired enough by anything to sit & listen.

Doesn't happen these days, and I get withdrawal symptoms if I can't have my daily music fix. It's my therapy now, and I suffer if I don't get my regular session.

How is it for you ??

I believe they absolutely deserve their own thread. This is music, boys and girls. For anyone who hasn't listened to them, go buy De-Loused In The Comatorium or Amputechture right now. They are easily my favorite band. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is a genius. I would also suggest you check out At The Drive-In and De Facto (previous bands). Omar's solo work is not quite as accessible as their other stuff, but is still very creative. They fuse multiple genres, such as jazz, latin, and prog rock. Listen to them. Please. Oh, yes. Check out One Day As A Lion's EP when it comes out July 22nd. It's a project Jon Theodore and Zack De La Rocha have been working on. Zechs Marquise- Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez's band... Free Moral Agents- Ikey Owens' band. There are some others, I am sure, but those are the ones I thought of. Golden- Jon Theodore's old band. Good day.

i just discovered them but apparentley they older than i thought so what do you think of them

Interesting article... I find that it proves true. In the case of my Mars Volta CDs, I noticed that every sound is very loud. Overly loud. It is impossible to decipher certain elements within a piece due to this, which I think is sad. It's also the case with almost any CD I've bought that's been produced in the past few years.

I didn't see a thread... Anyone who hasn't listened to Saul, he's sort of a crossover between a few genres, but a lot of hip hop. His new album, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust is one of my favorite recent releases. His self titled album is better, in my opinion. Is anyone a fan?
