I used to go through spells when I fell out of love with listening to music. It could last for a few months at a time, where I just didn't feel inspired enough by anything to sit & listen.
Doesn't happen these days, and I get withdrawal symptoms if I can't have my daily music fix. It's my therapy now, and I suffer if I don't get my regular session.
How is it for you ??

Yes... I go through phases where I'm overly critical of anything I enjoy and can't... Enjoy it anymore. My love of music has recently returned, but my "fed upness" has been directed at films now.

I can't say I have. It's always the second option for me - I have to have my fix. I think it's because I'm constantly seeking out new music. Not just new albums and singles by artists I know, but new styles and entire new genres. So nothing ever gets stale.
If you look at my
last.fm page and scroll down to "Top Artists: Overall" you'll see I don't listen to a lot of the same artists for long. I even qualify for a group called "The 1 Precenters" because my #1 artist is less than 1% of my total plays.
I'm the same about movies - I always want to discover new stuff.

I always manage to find something that I don't hate and listen to it for a while. This never really happens to me, though.

Absolutely lost interest for about 5 years in the 90s - rarely bought a CD - but then the switch just flicked on again.
but before and since then I can honestly say I've never got bored - there's always something new - or something old I haven't heard.

That's one reason I never listen to the radio. There is way too much repetition and lack of new music.

you know I fall out of music from time to time too but thats normally when I listen to new music. Some of the new music especially rap ceases to amaze me. I hear great tracks every now and again but the ones where they repeat the same line about girls dancing in the clubs with skimpy outfits kinda kills it for me.
