Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

A band which talks about making popular music!
Track One Federal Funding : Lyrics are prominent here with what is clearly a simple piece of popular music. It is not without appeal and to my ears is quite good fun to listen to.

Track Two Long Time: This is not just popular music, it is music which Cake hope will be popular and I think it is……..Their approach is clever and memorable, they know what they are doing and are meeting their achievement targets handsomely.

Track Three Got To Move: Slower track, rhyming lyric , mesmeric guitar all combines to give a good affect.

Track Four What ‘s Now Is Now: This is a cover version of a song done by Frank Sinatra on the album “Watertown” , it as written by Bob Gaudio and Jake Holmes. Funny, this is a fair version but the Watertown album is a complete concept and this seems a little like a fish out of water.

Track Five, Mustache Man ( Wasted ) We move to a heavier sound, an interesting and memorable riff. There is something a little avant gard about this track.

Track Six Teenage Pregnancy: Pseudo “Moonlight Sonata” starts this track, it sounds rather like something Alice Cooper might have written if he had had time……………………….

Track Seven Sick Of You : I guess this band have a sense of humour. Not a bad track either!

Track Eight Easy To Crash: Another good track with a simple vocal ,based around one riff and a simple keyboard technique.

Track Nine Bound Away: An old fashioned Irish feel song, I liked the slide guitar , reminded me of The Pogues.

Track Ten The Winter: A song about the Winter which had a good lyric and a good style, however, I had the feeling that we were imitating someone to make some sort of point or as a joke.

Track Eleven Italian Guy : Story in a song with classical orchestration, a comfortable song which is easy to like.

An interesting band who seem to experiment with many types of approach.Cool
