Gregg Allman………………………………Low Country Blues
This one too me a bit longer as all has been rather busy at Gryphon Towers but at last it is here!
Track One Floating Bridge….We are into the realms of the bluesman, the craft of many an older musician with experience and timing, her Gregg shows that he is in that class and has that capability.
Track Two Little By Little: A nice and easy track follows the first. Gentle, rock and roll…..nice!
Track Three Devil Got My Woman: Steel guitar, slow simmering start and a whining vocal is the essence of this track.
Track Four I Can’t Be Satisfied: This has something in common with “That’s All Right Mama” from Elvis .
Track Five Blind Man: Gregg gives this track a big sound and a dramatic approach. It’s OK but it is nothing special.
Track Six Just Another Rider: Another track which contains parts that could be lifted another track…again not a bad track but, nothing that inspiring.
Track Seven Please Accept My Love: A bit of Fats Domino in style.
Track Eight I Believe I Go Back Home : Another track that does not really leave much of an impression
Track Nine Tears, Tears, Tears: A nice slowblues track with the usual theme: woman trouble !
Track Ten My Love Is Your Love: There is some good guitar work on this slow blues offering, it’s solid blues and quite good to listen too but, somehow Gregg does not stand out from the crowd. However, I did not dislike this track !
Track Eleven Checking On My Baby: A slow easy piece of the blues…………………………………..
Track Twelve Rolling Stone: Not a bad finish …………….
This is not a bad album but it does not really “cut it” to my mind!
