Week Forty Eight............Cake..............Showroom Of Compassion - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-01-2011 didnt they sing that 'short skirt/long jacket' song a few years ago? Week Forty Eight............Cake..............Showroom Of Compassion - gryphon - 08-01-2011 Cake - Showroom of Compassion
A band which talks about making popular music!
Track Two Long Time: This is not just popular music, it is music which Cake hope will be popular and I think it isâ¦â¦..Their approach is clever and memorable, they know what they are doing and are meeting their achievement targets handsomely. Track Three Got To Move: Slower track, rhyming lyric , mesmeric guitar all combines to give a good affect. Track Four What âs Now Is Now: This is a cover version of a song done by Frank Sinatra on the album âWatertownâ , it as written by Bob Gaudio and Jake Holmes. Funny, this is a fair version but the Watertown album is a complete concept and this seems a little like a fish out of water. Track Five, Mustache Man ( Wasted ) We move to a heavier sound, an interesting and memorable riff. There is something a little avant gard about this track. Track Six Teenage Pregnancy: Pseudo âMoonlight Sonataâ starts this track, it sounds rather like something Alice Cooper might have written if he had had timeâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦. Track Seven Sick Of You : I guess this band have a sense of humour. Not a bad track either! Track Eight Easy To Crash: Another good track with a simple vocal ,based around one riff and a simple keyboard technique. Track Nine Bound Away: An old fashioned Irish feel song, I liked the slide guitar , reminded me of The Pogues. Track Ten The Winter: A song about the Winter which had a good lyric and a good style, however, I had the feeling that we were imitating someone to make some sort of point or as a joke. Track Eleven Italian Guy : Story in a song with classical orchestration, a comfortable song which is easy to like. An interesting band who seem to experiment with many types of approach. ![]() Week Forty Eight............Cake..............Showroom Of Compassion - Music Head - 08-01-2011 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:didnt they sing that 'short skirt/long jacket' song a few years ago? uh..................yes, 2001 Week Forty Eight............Cake..............Showroom Of Compassion - Music Head - 11-01-2011 Was able to listen to this one.
