Dear Music discussion community,
I was looking to see if any of you could recommend me some female voices. I am talking the likes of Sheryl Crow, Shirley Bassey, Carly Simon, Sheena Easton etc.
If you have any recommendations please include them.
I would prefer music that is NOT pop (i.e. no pussycat dolls or britney or aguilera) but instead downbeat/jazzy/country/slow music where the lyrics are discernable, make sense and are not composed of "love, U, Boy, Heaven" or other teenie bullshit.
Thanks,
MC70

I love Elvis Presley, and own the greatest hits. In particular I like 'Viva Las Vegas'. Really makes me want to see Las Vegas for real.

Any other fans of Elvis here, and your favourite tracks?

I used to love the annual albums that the Ministry would release. But for the last 5 years at least, I no longer like them. Gone are the brilliant trance mixes, which is now replaced more with pop like music. Am I alone on thinking this, or are their still lovers of the annual out there?

Mine would have to be, Guilbert & Sullivan compositions. I find their music easy to listen to, and usually jolly. My sort of thing.

What is yours?

I'm one of the "originals" I do believe. I joined the "old" MD in 2003. That other Steve guy referred me the first go round. I forget his screen name. He was the moderator of the Club House.

This time you have DB/Steve to thank for letting me know MD has re-opened its doors.

I've chosen a shortened version of my given name, Jonathan, plus middle initial. On MD Classic I was just "Jonathan".

Greetings!

I am currently listening to 'An evening with Strauss' with is mixture of music composed by Johann and Richard Strauss, and performed by the 'London Symphony Orchestra'.

Name that rock album or single that you own which you love to play?

Please list your favourite pop artists of all time. :embarassed:

A brilliant band in my opinion. Love the 'Dirty Old Man' song. Reminds me of me.:lol::lol:

What do others think of Faithless?

Who are some women that rock besides kittie? :innocent:
