Manchester band's brilliant debut, which looks backward to the Psychedelic sounds of the sixties whilst still sounding current (even today), fresh, and vibrant. They may not have put out many albums - they got bogged down in legal wrangles following the release of this record - and the follow-up wasn't a patch on this, but if this was all they'd released, they still have every reason to be very proud.
The songs are brilliant, the guitars are breathtaking, and the whole thing has an arrogance and swagger about it which must have rubbed off on Oasis..
