The Seventh album by the Beatles ! Perhaps the last time that the Beatles would sit together in harmony and work together as a group in a spirit of optimism.Three song writers confident and each with their own interests and directions and yet three people with a common goal. A band who had taken the world by storm , proved that they could perform live and now were ready to take a step backwards and focus on recording.
Musically we had a mature band who were pushing the boundaries of the recording world and were able to look at themselves and their lives and write about them in a magical way. Paul is in full romantic mode with
"Here There and Everywhere", he tells backhandedly about his experiences with drugs in "Got To Get You Into My Life " George comes into focus with the rocker "Taxman " and shows the Indian influences from his post touring times in "Love To You "...................John is out there in his own worlds........At times he is "Only Sleeping" but, then Tomorrow never knows.....................Ringo is not named as a song writer but has made a strong contribution to many numbers ............... Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )
