CSNY "deja vu" 1970

Perhaps one of the greatest follow ups of all time, 'Deja Vu' showcases all of the superstar quartet and their immeasurable talent. For all the praise heaped on Neil Young, it was Stephen Stills who was the guiding force in this period, and establishes himself nicely with the powerful '4+20' and storming opener 'Carry On.'
Yet the other members contribute their own works of art: Crosby's 'Almost Cut My Hair' still haunts (written after Bobby Kennedy's asassination) as does the time changing 'Deja Vu'; Nash's efforts are written off as twee, but 'Teach Your Children' showed he could still produce the hits, and 'Our House' is a beautiful song describing life with Joni Mitchell; while Young offers the powerful 'Country Girl Medley' and the emotional 'Helpless.' All this, plus the classic version of Mitchell's 'Woodstock' & the almighty ending of 'Everybody I Love You' showed that CSNY were the band to beat in 1970. A masterpiece.

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.
