Dear Forum Members
I am interested to find out how you find out about new musical areas eg, new artists , new CDs ,downloads etc
What magazines do you read ?
Which websites do you visit ?
Do you exchange ideas with friends , if so how ?
Do you listen to/stream radio and if so what types?
Do you have other ways of finding new things to listen to ?
Could the forum be used to help introduce people to new areas ?( If so , how?)

I think your at the right place to find out about new musical genres. The best place to sometimes look is the 'Currently listening threads' and see what other people write. If I see a post of something I don't know, then I might look them up on youtube. If it sounds good, then I go to itunes to purchase. Music Forums are going to be the best place as it's purpose is to share musical ideas and experiences.

& if in case you looking for something particular or maybe a recommendation, just start a thread, there are tons of people who just want to share their knowledge.

Iota Wrote:Yes, it's called conversation.
I don't think a forum called 'Music Discussion' is a good place for finding new music.
Don't take it personally gryphon. Our very own Iota has been with us a while (bit like the furniture), and has a dark sense of humour. You will get used to him.

i am a bit back dated, i normally find out about music if my freinds play a song for me, or tell me something..or i know the musician...
i stopped buying magazines years ago-when smash hits and top of the pops stopped being cool and catered for rubbish :0)
websites, i am here or on
www.hanson.net

i am hoping being here broadens my horizons, and i am able to eductae people in the joys of boybands ;0) (you think i am joking hehehehe, i will have you ALL singing mmmbop by the time i am finished :biggrin
we can conquer this great divide-hanson
