Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

This is their debate album , two girls two boys: a guitarist ( Avi ) a keyboard player, bass and drums...Largely this band has attempted to make it on their own without really using the possible big name connections hinted at on their web page. A great cover for the CD!

Track One Truth Sets In: A nice guitar intro heralds in a simple and easily accessible track..with audible lyrics and a good sense of rhythm and melody. A finger picking guitarist stars on acoustic and makes his well built guitar resound to give a full and gentle sound.

Track Two What in it For : The style continues here with good vocal technique and a good feel for building a song and crafting the melody. It’s clear that the band have studied the past sounds that have come out of California and their sound reflect the picture of sun sea and bright feelings that come from the area.

Track Three Coaxed : We have lost some of the strength here as this is a weaker and more rambling track OK but, not he star track of the album. At the end the guitar sounds could affect the sounds of the ocean but its not that convincing.

Track Four Five Little Sluts: Again a good jangly guitar intro ......I felt that this track had poor production....it is a good vocal but its too low in the mix to make the impact that it should as a result the affect is rather lost .................

Track Five Jessica : A good attempt at a love song and it has potential but he emotions are portrayed in pale shades rather than full Technicolor...there is potential in this band but I feel they need a bit of help to develop it fully. Again the ocean sounds approach is tried and is only half successful

Track Six Summer Cum : A nice and original start but, a terribly spotty song content. I prefer “Pictures of Lily” By The Who for this approach

Track Seven One Last: A better produced track which exploits the vocal style well . Nice simple melody and a joyful lyric, combine to make an appealing track.

Track Eight Can’t I Know: Again a feeling of being good gentle song with weak production ..There is plenty here but it is not put across with much force. This sounds almost like a demo..........

Track Nine Remember Last Time : A Good effort , towards the end they get to grips with what they want to be about and start to really shine.

Track Ten Where’s Your Dirty Mind .: Quiet track that didn’t grip me.

Track Eleven Suns : Charming but, not a strong performance.

Track Twelve I’m So Exclusive .: Nice gentle music but still at an early stage. Seems to wander a little too much!

Track Thirteen Jessica( Redo) : A second try with different effects..............still does not really add anything to the song.:confused::hippie:Cool

A band which is still evolving.....good in places, nice naive style but, needs work to firm up what they really are and where they are going.........The album has great charm ad sounds largely like a collection of demos ...........they plan quite extensive touring in the next few months and maybe this will help them realise the potential shown in this first album.
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

Track One - I dunno - it’s a little unfocused and I’m not a big fan of this type of these type of overlaid vocals. Sounds promising though..

Track Two - Much better - I suppose I just like songs! ‘you have lips like tiny pieces of bacon’ - very cute little song. (maybe 30 seconds too long but that’s really being picky!)

Track Three - the music sounds like a river bubbling past - very pleasant, melodic and totally laid-back, decent enough - again though - just shorten the outtro - stop hanging on!.

Track Four - Picked up the pace a little but seemed a little uncomfortable with it - lyrics got a little garbled. Just okay - ish, maybe.

Track Five - Straightforward love song - really like how the piano sounds on this. I’m realising I’m just not a big fan of his voice - if it was stronger, I think it would sound almost David Bowie like and everything would fit together so much better. I think I hear sometimes that the music is actually confined a bit by the restrictions of his voice.

Track Six - their version of ‘feeling groovy’ I see - I like it though - Now do you see what I mean with the outtros!

Track Seven - It’s got a nice little hook and I like the female vocals on this. The progression at about three and a half minutes sounds a bit jarring though.

Track Eight - Like the intro but otherwise plain boring. For a tune as simple as this, there has to be something lyrically interesting going on but I don’t see that happening here - they seem a little self-indulgent.

Track Nine - pretty nice, all hangs together nicely and the guitars get to shine a little. Really like this.

Track Ten - pretty soothing but a little dark - I liked this.

Track Eleven - nope - just sounds weak. Filler.

Track Twelve - what is that? Whale noises or something ?

Track Thirteen - had it with these vocals.

I sorta think there is promise here but it does seem painfully hip in parts - and those vocals - not for me.

1) Truth Sets In - 1.5 - nice music, but the hand claps are annoying
2) What's In It For? - 2.0 - liked the backing vocals best
3) Coaxed - 1.5 - pretty but tedious
4) Five Little Sluts - 1.0 - his falsetto is over bearing without some other distraction
5) Jessica - 1.5 - same as above but interesting lyrics
6) Summer Cum - 1.0 - if you can't say something nice
7) One Last - 1.5 - the girl should take over all vocals
8) Can't I Know? - 1.0 - just too laid back
9) Remember Last Time - 2.0 - a little more upbeat, and the girl makes it, but a bit long
10) Where's Your Dirty Mind - 1.5 - ok already, you don't wanta die

Average rating of 1.5 means a don't buy. The Miracle Whip commercials were cool. I did like those 2 tracks, the first being the single I think, but Remember The Last Time was the best. wth, how did you guys get 13 tracks? There was only 10 where I was. I feel cheated, then again, maybe blessed.
