![]() How sadly serendipitous. I have recently been wracking my brains trying to recall the name of this band because I wanted to hear the album again. I remembered the cover artwork just fine (unsurprisingly!), and that the title was French, as was the singing, but for the life of me, could NOT arrive at the name of the band, which is Harmonium (they were from Quebec), and which I have only now found out due to the passing of one of the members Serge Fiori - R.I.P. Mr Fiori was 73 and had been ill for some time. From what I can tell he was something of a character and will be sorely missed. They only released three albums, in the 70's, (although he went on to do some solo work which I might have to look up) and of those, Les cinq saisons is considered a prog folk classic.

Super sad to learn that Dave Cousins passed away today. He was 85 and had not been very well for some time - struggled with various health issues. A rare talent and of an era when real skill was used to create magical offerings - an astonishing command of English, vast imagination and musicality beyond reproach - there was a majesty about this band in their heyday - I honestly believe that some of their pieces can sit alongside famous classical works, in terms of the likelihood of their longevity. R.I.P. Mr Cousins - my own life would be very much poorer without your music.
It simply has to be this ... ![]()
