Jamaican reggae singer.
vaguely remember him from the mid to late 1980s having a couple of decent sized hits in the UK
he was quite prolific also releasing 30 albums between 1984-2014
i dont own anything by him but he has a couple of tracks on Various Artists compilations i own
as a tribute, the one i remember most:

R.I.P. Val Kilmer. His performance as Jim Morrison is quite possibly the most uncannily like portrayal of a muso ever. He actually sang on more than half the tracks too. Gone too soon at 65 - pneumonia by all accounts. What a thing.

the only Val Kilmer movie i can ever recall seeing was "tombstone" where he played Doc Holiday, or was that a mini-series?, i dont remember?!
my sister was a big fan and when i spoke to her last night she mentioned his performance of Jim Morrison, so maybe i should finally get round to watching it?
