Pink Floyd

goth metal raver Wrote:I just bought Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall on CD. I used to have both albums on cassette years ago and I've been feeling their lack ever since I got rid of all my old cassettes.

Wow. The Wall is such an amazing album. And Dark Side is just as thought provoking as ever (I think it gets better the older you get).

I've also got Echoes, their best of album.

So what do other people think of the mighty Pink Floyd. Best rock band ever?

Without a doubt! I like eveyone of their albums from Obscured by Clouds onwards.

The only Floyd 'album' I have never heard is the Pan Americana soundtrack. I believe some of it is extracts from AMLOR with some unrelease material included. Not sure about the facts here. Incidentally AMLOR has my favourite Floyd beginning 'Signs of Life' and 'Learning to Fly', 'Yet Another Movie' and 'On the Turning Away' are my faves from that one. I cannot stand 'Sorrow' and it bores me to death. Cannot understand why they insisted on including that one in their live sets. They had far better material to choose from as far as AMLOR is concerned. 'A New Machine' is quite interesting as well, but should have been developed a bit more.
