Points taken one and all but to give someone an award just so he can be part of the club, regardless of the fact that the song submitted is well below par for him (I'm not anti-NY - I have a lot of his stuff), is hypocrisy. It makes a mockery of the whole process. They could have honoured him for contributions to music or something along those lines and I would have been fine with that, but to say that this is the best rock song produced for the year is laughable. And that's why I think the Grammy's have become irrelevant. The whole thing has become a complete sham. But then that's Hollywood for you - nothing is real is it?

I'm with Jerome on this one. 'Le Noise' album was pretty disappointing and not much better than it's even worse predecessor 'Fork In The Road'. As for Grammy's/award shows in general, I've never really seen them as having any significance and the fact that Justin Bieber was nominated for 'best new artist' only reinforces that.

So Arcade Fire was the first band not signed to a major label ever to win best album. I thought that was interesting.
