Mitt Romney has failed to seal the nomination but we have to wait and see what happens. As I said, GOP will so damaged after this race.

Romney wins Wyoming
Santorum wins Kansas

so assuming Romney wins overall...

does that mean that whoever finishes runner up automatically becomes his running mate in november?, or can Romney choose another candidate he feels more comfortable working with, or does the party then decide who runs with Romney????

Supposedly the candidate picks who he wants.
Have always figured the party heads all get together in a consultation with a lot of arm twisting.
then again, can't imagine that would have resulted in Sara Palin.

Yes, U.S. territories get a vote, as they do in congress.
I've never understood it either

Now this is interesting ! I can't imagine Gingrich running as VP...however Romney would need Southern support like the Kennedy/Johnson ticket in 1960. Of course Santorum is from Pennsylvania (the north) but I think he has somewhat "radical" beliefs with regards to the Christian family, views against abortion and same sex marriage..may not fly right with liberal voters.

Ron Paul is from Texas..not sure if he would be a good fit for Romney ? Paul is an identity of his own..will he run as Independent ???..too late isn't it MH ?

Does American political history show the North/South split in OTP/VP tickets for the most part ?

Always been hard for me to get my head around people thinking like this, but I guess they do, according to the experts.
Speaking for myself, I don't give a shit what state a candidate is from.
I care about what he thinks/believes.
Honesty above all else of course.
That's a hard test to pass.
Everyone has been dishonest at some point, I would say even Honest Abe.
I think the candidate does consider the location factor when choosing a running mate, but I just think it's stupid.

As far as Paul running as an Independent, I dont think it's too late, but as I have stated previously, I dont think he will do that, due to his son being a rising Republican senator.
I do think Paul will drop out pretty soon, after he bargains for a good speaking role at the convention
