Presidential Debates
#1
They start Wednesday night 9pm eastern
Not sure if anyone else here has any interest in these.
me, I'm a political junkie
politics is my sports

watching the Libertarian party candidate on c-span right now, Gary Johnson
now he would make the debates lively
damn crime debates are limited to Dems and Pubs

anyway if you want to discuss the debates or politics, I'm here for ya
we might not see things the same, but I'll make it fun

I watched CNN this morning MH, and one of the survivors of the Theatre shootings in Aurora, Colorado was interviewed. The victims are trying to organize more awareness of gun control however neither candidate has mentioned it in their campaign so far ! He hopes (Stephen Barton) that it finally comes up for discussion on Wednesday night since the debates are in Denver close to Aurora.

We are in a brutal stupid time zone up here ! We're an hour behind the Us so the debates will start at 10 pm up here ! I'll try to watch them if Mr. Sandman doesn't come ! ...lol

Even 9pm here, I won't be watching live
That's why God invented DVR's
I'll be watching first thing Thursday morning

I love politics as well, but hate it at the same time. I despise the fact that the debates are limited to red and blue. I am begging for more parties, that are functional. I hate this bipartisan system. I have a whole rant, but I will refrain here.

go ahead and rant all you like, as long as it doesnt get personal or the like i dont think anyone will be offended by it.

sure 'little parties' are good for democracy Penny....but out here they tend to end up alligning themselves with either Liberal or Labor, end up in bed with them to ensure they get elected then ultimately hold the large party to ransom ie: do what we say or we wont pass this legislation or that legislation etc etc...

i have no time for them personally as they not only hold the other parties to rensom but also the country as a whole

our political heavyweights have weighed in on the upcoming US election lately, most seem to agree that Obama is the best man for the job at the moment, that said, im sure both countries will continue to work together whoever is elected President in November

I wouldn't know
we never have any third party in national office
therefore they would never hold any power to wield
I do see where you're coming from though
problem is if they do get on the ticket, they are spoilers
Perot got Clinton elected
Nader got Bush elected
I would just like to see them in the debates
Qualification being that they are on the ballot in all states
Libertarian party usually is
if not, that's a whole other problem
