I've been in love with them for over 30 years now, so my opinion will be somewhat skewed.
This band have been the best fit with what I want from music during that whole period. I don't, however, think that everything they did was wonderful; I like the Syd stuff, & understand the importance of their psychedelic years, but it doesn't pack the punch that their music had from Meddle onwards.
Similarly, their music produced after the departure of Roger Waters is just a pale imitation of their former glories IMV.
Also think RW's solo albums are excellent...
