Serious question here everyone, most of the time I see somebody post about a band like one of these everybody says they're junk and makes a joke about them.
Which genre is music like this? Last.FM calls it post-hardcore or metalcore, but I think everyone here disagrees according to some threads I've read.
Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, The Word Alive, greeley estates, etc..

I'm familiar with Devil Wears Prada and to my ear it's black death metal. I'm not familiar with the other bands.
Geez all these genres !!!!! In the last century it used to be rock and country...period. Now I'm dating myself !

for everyone else....there are but three genres, 1) good 2) crap and 3) Dylan.
Dylan is a one off, he is in a league of his own IMO

More often then not I've heard them categorized as metalcore. Certainly you will find more bands like them if you search for bands under that description. Others that come to mind that are similar - "Number 12 Looks Like You" & "Poison The Well"
