BRONZE AWARD........ Miles Davis ..............Kind of Blue
#1
[Image: 41ViujXJljL._SL500_AA300_.jpg]

Track listing:

1 So What
2 Freddie Freeloader
3 Blue in Green
4 All Blues
5 Flamenco Sketches

Reputedly the biggest selling Jazz album ever, released in 1959.

Miles and his stellar band - including Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, Jimmy Cobb, Bill Evans, & Paul Chambers - improvise their way through some gorgeous late night tunes, which, for the more musically literate among you follow modal approaches, rather than chord progressions.

The Jazz world is filled to the brim with musos, and tricksy musical developments that may leave the casual listener baffled, but this album is very approachable which may have played a part in its' success.

Fantastic album Tiggi. By no means his best but extremely important in terms of the sheer influence it had... and thats before you even get to the line-up, which is sensational.

Never listened to this album but I believe it is one of the most influential albums ever made. I won't be voting for this (until i've heard it) but I will certainly be buying - been meaning to get this one for a long, long time.
