Woods â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..At Echo Lake
I liked the look of the album cover ..........to me it looked like something that âThe Cureâ might have used in their heyday...........................................
Track One: Blood Dries Darker Its Indie time with this band and that is what you get for the first track, echoed vocals and a nice melody give one a friendly introduction to the album. An effects guitar solo adds the cherry to the top of the cake.
Track Two: Pick Up There is a raw unspoilt sound to this band which pervades
this bands material which makes them quite addictiveâ¦..I have to admit to liking the sound a lot. The production here is clever and simple â¦â¦â¦â¦..to yield a near demo sound quality.
Track Three: Sufferiing Seasonâ¦Light and wake is how I would describe this oneâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..feels as if the flower children were consulted about the feel and textureâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦.optimistic and delicate!!!!
Track Four :Time Fading Lines Late sixties psychpop must have figured in this bandâs homework schedules and boy did they study it well. Chug-a-long guitar with wistful lyrics make you want to sit back smile and hope for more.
Track Five From The Horn When this started , I could not help thin king of Anarchy in the UK, donât know why maybe the riff is similar . There is something of a punkish overtone to this band at times.
Track Six Death Rattles Back to a more gentle sound and a simple electric guitar approach.
Track Seven Morninâ Time Interesting and pleasant, light and dreamy ! There is a Couteau Twins feel Enough said !
Track Eight I was Gone Simple and affective sound , nice song! Love the primitive feel!
Track Nine Get Back A Beatles cover ? No ! Another cute and simple tune , in true Indie fashion. A track that haunts you and after a time it plays in your brain for hours after.
Track Ten Deep I love this bands unproduced sound, they capture what must be an âas written approachâ without the need to make things anymore complex.
Track Eleven Til The Sun Rips Sadly the last track ad I wanted more ! A good end track: sounds like they are sitting by a fading camp fire, singing the last song before turning in for the night!
I guess once a hippy always a hippy but, here in 2010 it is still pleasing to know that here others who still think like that and believe I n the simpler naive things of life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This bandâs strength is its sound ;and itâs variety of sounds and the memory that if you canât say it in three minutes then itâs probably not worth saying!
