I've a large collection of CD's and records I've been wanting to sell, thought I'd try to do it online instead of unloading it at stores.
Thinking I'd get more cash if selling stuff individually. Does anyone have experience selling music online?
Is it worth the trouble to sell it piece by piece or should I look into local stores or possibly trying to sell the entire collection in one shot?
I've had some bad luck on ebay a few times, has anyone ever tried gemm or discogs? Any advice is appreciated!

i would not sell my collection of music, but i would be more inclined to purchase someone else's if they were sold in lots of say 50 items together, either by genre or by groupings of a particular artist, for example, assuming you have 10,15,20 McCartney albums...sell them as a lot

DD, you're probably better off unloading the entire collection at a fair and reputable used CD & Record outlet if there's one in your area!...less hassle and less work and you'd be further ahead in the long run.

Never tried selling any music, but would you really get a decent return on CD's these days? I don't know if it's even worth the time trying to sell them. Vinyl has a better value depending on the condition and material.

This Thread was started when there actually were music stores. Anymore at least in the US, they've disappeared or gone totally niche. If you have a long timeline and can afford to sell them piecemeal, Amazon is the way to go. Have you considered donating them--the common to a thrift store, the less-common to a local school or music society? In the US anyway, you could get a tax write-off for this.
