OK this is not going to make sense but here goes anyway.
Years ago I heard the theme music for a TV series that had a very distinctive sountrack. Sparsely played bass lines with an ethereal synth/keyboard sound floating on top. Very minimalist. The only damn thing I can remember about this series is that it was the name of a place. In the mountains somwhere in the USA - kind of like the Rockies-type area. If I could 'sing ' it I would but I can't. A kind of boom boom (on the bass) followed by a long space and then another boom boom. Have been trying to find this music for years. Anyone have any ideas. Very mysterious-sounding theme.!!??!!

If you like the Twin Peaks theme Jerome, check out Julee Cruise's Floating Into The Night album. Contains the TP theme tune along with much more similar material from the tune's composer Angelo Badalamenti in conjunction with JC.
Lovely album...

Thx Tiggi will do. By the way there's another theme I am trying to find. Backing music for a TV series about the supernatural. Kind of a whistling type sound if I remember correctly. Goes something like this - ding ding ding ding - pause - ding ding ding ding ding - notes played in quick succession. Fascinating piece of music but I cannot supply anymore more information on this one. Lost for words.

Could this one be X-Files? I immediately thought of it when you said it had whistling sounds.
