I always hear about Kind of Blue and A Love Supreme. Don't get me wrong, those are great too, but Mingus's 1963 masterpiece just delivers so much more. I mean, the emotional intesity of it is unreal, the most engaging album I've ever heard. Anybody else feel this way

Yes, I do ! I am a huge Charlie Mingus fan.....a jazz genius !!!! Even though I am not a huge fan of music polls and music "best" lists, The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady is always listed in the top 5 of best jazz albums in history ! The other two you mentioned are always there also ! I am trying to locate Cumbia Jazz Fusion by Mingus...can't locate it anywhere ? Do you have it ?
Reader's Digest nominated the Black Saint and Sinner Lady as the jazz album of the 20th Century !!!!
I also love Andrew Hill's Invitation !!!!! check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed !
Good to talk to a jazz fan !
Hope to hear from you.
