Greetings my fellow music lovers !
My masterpiece is: Keith Jarrett - The Koln Concert (1975).
Mr. Jarrett mesmerizes the listener with a fascinating improvised journey on solo piano for over an hour. He treats us with snippets of jazz, classical, rock, gospel and blues to produce a fascinating kaleidoscope of soundscapes. You never really know what's coming next. This album should be listened to alone in a dark or dim lit room on headphones to appreciate the full effect of this Masterpiece.
Take note music lovers, there is no such animal as the BEST MASTERPIECE! Everyone's choice is a personal one and cannot be exposed to scrutiny or criticism.
I am starting this discussion in hopes that we will share great music with each other. Some of the choices will be familiar to us all, some will not be and some will be ones we initially dismissed because we really "didn't get it " the first time around.
This discussion is intended primarily for music information. The choices are not restrictive in that they can come from any music genre.
I can't wait to see what you great folks come up with !
Old Geezer Steve
