Apart from his solo and jingle writing career, Chris Rainbow provided vocals (lead and backing) on a couple of Camel albums (The Single Factor and Stationary Traveller) and toured with them on those, he also appeared on two Jon Anderson solo albums, but he might be best known for his work on Alan Parsons Project albums, including one of my favourites â Turn of a Friendly Card.
Alan Parsons is quoted as saying that they (he and Eric Woolfson) referred to him as a âone man Beach Boysâ. I hadnât heard any of Chrisâs own work up to now, so I listened a bit. Jeez â they werenât kidding â he made some beautiful, big, lush arrangements - full waves of sound; RIP Chris Rainbow.
