How sincere do you want our answers to be?--'cuz, trust me, mine was.
A man accustomed to hear only the echo of his own sentiments, soon bars all the common avenues of delight, and has no part in the general gratification of mankind--Dr. Johnson

no....
i guess if i wanted to be in a band in order to keep the millions rolling in every month it would be The Beatles if i wanted to be in a band to be known as a perfectionist at music making it would be Jethro Tull if i wanted to be in a band to make great classy pop music it would be Crowded House/Split Enz if i wanted to be in a band just to enjoy what i was doing it would probably be some little pub/bar band somewhere

My hands-down choice would be The Band, if only to shake a tambourine off to the side. O/W a J Geils Band roadie, the guy responsible for getting the after-show refreshments. I'd sure consider being Joe Walsh's or Rick Neilson's guitar tender. Nothing was said about being the onstage part of the band nor should it be assumed.

No question about it, I'd join The Who (prior to Keith Moon's death)!!

Everyone has an Angel: a Guardian who watches over us. We can't know what form they'll take. One day, old man. Next day, little girl. But don't let appearances fool you, they can be as fierce as any dragon. Yet they're not here to fight our battles, but to whisper from our heart. Reminding that it's us: it's everyone of us who holds power over the world we create. -Sweet Pea

I thought long and hard about this one and I could not come up with just one so instead here are a few
I fancy being Frank Sinatras piano player Bill Miller so I can sit and acompany Frank with "Its Quarter To Three ......... I want to be on stage with Buddy Holly so I can play Everyday and Words of Love I would just love to duet with Elvis on Hound Dog I would like to be between Mick and Keith to play Satisfaction I want to do the backing vocals on a Clifford T Ward track maybe wherewithal I would find it wonderful to play with Nick Drake on a track To play with Bill Legend and Marc Bolan in T.Rex A support role with Bob Dylan I would love to duet with George Harrison on My Sweet Lord A role in ELP on keyboards A complementary riff or two with Steve Howe in Yes Maybe I could put in a contribution to one of Mike Oldfields multitrack and Oh to sing with Johnny Cash would make life complete Of course to play with the Beatles ( but I am the fifth Beatle!) I would find it heaven to do a harmony part with The Beach Boys The list goes on.................
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive Oh! it wears a man down into the ground It's the strangest elation I can't describe it Oh it leaves a man weary It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe ) |
