^^^Wow! Some great picks showing up here. Thanks everyone - for participating.
Steve Harley, of Cockney Rebel fame, born 27 February 1951. He's another one of those artists whose stuff you'll recognise if you hear it, but you might not be able to place him. He's all over the place - interesting guy. He's collaborated with the likes of Rick Wakeman, Mike Batt and Midge Ure and has had a number of other quite fascinating associations. If you happen to be in possession of the 7 single of the track I'm posting - congrats! It's worth a small fortune. But first and foremost, it's a great song ...

Ah no! But glad to see you are coping reasonably well, regardless.
Happy to oblige on this one too â and sincerely hoping it will have legs!

That was his biggest hit by far but not his only one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1U3GGMfiMI << Dwight Yoakum does a killer straight country version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPeK2hj02Xo << He had something of an acting career too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcEf5pfiNh8 << in keeping with the tenor of the times...

I think any time Sir Paul covers anything, he does a real good job of it. Remember he grew up with this stuff and has respect for it. << Wonder how long he practiced that whistling before trotting it out in public? Enquiring minds want to know....

Phil Gould, born on 28 February 1957. He was a co-founder of, and the original drummer for Level 42. He and his brother Boon were with the band from its inception in 1980 up to 1987, returning briefly for a recording session in 1994. In addition to his drumming role, Phil was responsible for writing many of the lyrics for Level 42. I havenât heard his solo album Watertight, but itâs on the endless âto listen toâ list.
A classic from Level 42 â and this one is most definitely all about that bass! Brilliant.

Sneaking in a last minute entry (from my time zone, anyway) Cindy Wilson, born 28 February 1957, Founding member, vocalist, songwriter and bongocero for the B52âs. How could anyone pass up an opportunity to post âPlanet Claireâ?! Not the best quality video ever made, but some nice showcasing of Cindy doing her thing.
