Another new member stumbling in here.... eyes squinting! I'm yet another lover of music whose interests spread far and wide. I'm a welder by profession, though I've spent many years building homes, commercial projects, airplane hangers and these days.... a tug boat! I love animals, and especially our 5 English Springer Spaniels, one of which is my buddy, and we spend every available minute together. Here's his photo....

Welcome to the site - another animal lover here - cannot understand the concept of hunting for sport - for sustenance or survival - yes - for sport - no. Post a couple of your favourite albums. We are a pretty diverse bunch on this forum. We argue, bitch, fight and moan - all behind the safety of our internet connections and plasma screens, but every now and again we find common ground. And occasionally, some new music worth exploring.

Hi music in a bottle

mile: Nice to have another animal lover here

mile:
I've been around our animal friends most of my life (dogs, cats, horses, birds, and rabbits just to name some).
What type of music do you like?
Just in case you didn't notice this song

I know that this is a music forum, and I'll be talking about my favorite music soon enough, but in the meantime, I simply must share this video of my boy with you. His name is Billy! Please enjoy!

here's an anti-hunting song, well, fox hunting inparticular...
a lovely folky tune from Style Council,
lyrics printed underneath the link:

"blood sports" 1985.
Who takes the heart from a stag
Who gets a hard-on with blood on their hands
Who strips the wonder of life
When they don't have the right
But they say it's fair game
And they won't feel no pain
As we feel no shame
So let the sun come down
Let our eyes close the blind
Let the rivers run dry
Let the forest life die
But who are they to decide
As if their right is divine
As if their right sublime
Who wins the hooves loses respect
Who kills the Grace treads with intent -
Into Heaven's domain, playing little Christians
Hear their voice soar in church
Giving thanks for this earth -
Then destroying it's birth
So let the sun come down
Let our eyes close the blind
Let the rivers run dry
Let the forest life die
But who are they to decide
As if their right is divine

This is why I love "The Seekers" among other groups like Abba!

The Seekers are fantastic IMO....
They are still touring Australia to this day, unfortunately vocalist Judith Durham has been in poor health of late though....

I know. It's hard to believe that so many people don't even know of The Seekers, and they are one of the most gracious and classiest gatherings of musicians I have ever seen!
