i've noticed there are far many more posts and threads on the rock forum then anywhere else... does this mean it's the most popular on this site? or does it mean the rockers have more to say? or is it just a more controversial genre? personally, no offense to anyone else, but my theory is that that rock, blues, and classical genre people are the most intelligent and most dedicated to music... it's just that classical and blues lovers are few because it's less popular and those people are just older and don't use the internet as much. pop, rap, and everything else just seem like a bandwagon thing (hence the name pop) that people only find as a pastime. what do you think?

I'd say good old R & R is generally the most popular global genre, and that's reflected on here.
Jazz fans need adding to the most intelligent list...

how and why? where is your evidence? i tend to distrust large claims like this... especially when they come from a newbie.

It really doesn't matter which genre is the most popular. What matters is the type of music which appeals to you.

I don't think this thread is supposed to matter. Although it is interesting to see the musical tastes of the members.

I think that is a silly statement, and perhaps one of the least discussed genres in MD.
