Couldn't have said it better myself. I'll always consider them the first heavy metal band. Even though Zeppelin were the first blues-influenced band to break through from the blues rock boom and become hard rock in themselves, I think Sabbath took it another level. Like I said, the evil sound we associate with metal is all their in that self-titled song.

I think Metallica influenced a new-age in metal music, which gave birth to so many wonderful rock genres :biggrin:
