RUde? on occasion. Condescending? Only when I know what I'm talking about

but ignorant? Oh nay nay, neither of these "singers" possess any natural talent whatsoever. Their whole sound comes from their studios. The sound mixers and computer nerds behind their albums should be receiving all the credit. If you have ever spoken with anyone who has heard them in concert you would know this. And, I do not say this in a defensive manner but only to enlighten a somewhat annoyed fan of such lies. If you still like their sound, I applaud you but just know that what you hear on the radio is not them, but their computers. Just saying.... Okay so perhaps I was defensive as well, but 'twas not my intention. But I simply do not take being called ignorant lightly. Thank you and good night!

So do most American teenagers listen to R&B and Hip-hop?
And I can only speak for my surrounding area but that is my personal opinion. I can think of only a few(myself included) who do not listen to such things. Around here the majority of the playlists are filled with Rap, Hip hop, and country (I live in East Texas)hence the jab at Taylor and Miley

But I would say, based on personal experience that Rap and Hip Hop are the current "favorite" of the younger generation, however I have noticed that more Alternative Rock has been finding it's way on to the charts which is somewhat enlightening. I'd be really happy if we could get some metal on there, but I know that's a long shot ha ha:biggrin1:

From what I've seen, the younger generation absolutely loves pop & hip-hop

Ehrm. As a teenager, I'd like to say that I don't find much "modern" music appealing. My interests tend to stick with the 70s and 80s, and the most modern songs I listen to are from bands who have stuck around since then. Iron Maiden would be a great example for that.
I love Led Zeppelin, I'm getting into a lot of Pink Floyd, and I also love instrumental stuff. From guitarists mostly, like Satriani and Malmsteen.
But I'd agree that on a wide scale, teenagers go for the heavily marketed music out there -- no offense to any others who don't follow the 'norm'.
