Please read this:The heat in Australia..........
#1
In Victoria the temperature has been above 44ºC (111.2ºF) all week and they are forecasting another week of 40+ temperatures. Power is failing, trains have stopped running because tracks are buckling under the heat. Check out these photos of a little koala that just walked onto a back porch looking for a bit of heat relief. The owner filled up a bowl for it and this is what happened!

Seeing this gives me a little faith in the human condition when they can do something like this for one of our 'natives'. The heat has so far taken the lives of around a hundred or more human beings suffering heatstroke.
I personally had to pick up and release outside a small rabbit that one of my girls had caught and brought home to play with overnight.

Just a bit of a one!
Here's a little more info about that koala that another friend emailed to me overnight:

Quote:it's been very VERY hot in the south and southeastern part of the country in the past couple weeks (end of january / early february) with temperatures at 45C (113F) for a week in south australia and in the low to mid 40s in melbourne and victoria. all the wildlife suffers significantly in such heat, and here is an example of that.

koalas don't drink water like most other animals, getting most of their water from the food they eat. in extreme circumstances, though, they will drink water if they can find it.

for those non-australians who get this- koalas are not kept as pets because it's illegal in all states of australia. they're not predisposed to being a classic pet either, unlike 'roos or most birds, which people are able to keep legally. so this little mate showed up and asked for help..

I'm guessing it's only the front wheel drive version and not a Quattro! Or di the engine just refuse to run in the cold?

Oh I get it now - yeah, it's not 4 wheel drive, which never matters until it snows.

You might guess that I have a deep disinterest in cars

(although the bit about the colour was a (bad) joke).

I don't get the joke - bad or otherwise. Sorry! From what I can see, your car IS Midnight Blue or something of that nature.
