see if I can get through this
Lost my best friend yesterday.
My dog, 11 year companion Chloe passed away yesterday.
After a few days of not eating, took her to the vet.
Found out she had a uterine infection.
Only option was to have her uterus removed.
After that surgery and a couple of days there, she was not bouncing back.
Further tests revealed the infection had spread to her kidneys, and there was nothing else they could do.
Had to make that awful decision.
Laid down in the pen with her while the injection was made.
Asked doc if he could put one in my arm also.
He wouldn't do it.
I loved her so much.
Thank you Lord for 11 years of friendship.
That's the only way you can deal with it without just totally losing it.
Strangely, a few days before this began, a stray pup showed up here and will not leave.
There must be a reason for that.

Condolences my friend. We never realise how much joy these creatures bring us until they are no longer with us. At least the suffering is over. That's how I look at these things. I don't really know any other way to look at it.

I am so sorry. 11 years is too short a time. I hope the new puppy will bring you some comfort.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about Chloe, MH. I'm sure it couldn't have been easy. Hopefully this new pup brings some happiness back to your life.
