dude, there's no decade for music that's better than another. Every decade has it's share of crap and it's share of quality music in equal measures

the only good modern music ,,,is usually something that sounds like 60s or 70s music... 90s music was better than the late eighties...today current music is the worse ever.a few alternative bands out today...but most of it is dance/party music with is boring as..all sounds the same..

Tough question. There's tons of good modern music, but the good stuff is rarely popular. I'd say the popular music of the 60's was best, but each decade had had highlights above and below the radar.

I love the way rock evolved in the 70's and alot of my favorite bands recorded some of their best music during the 70's for instance:
Santana recorded Abraxas and III in the early 70's and after carlos went solo he recorded moonflower and illuminations. Led zeppelin recorded their famous fourth album which included songs like Stairway to heaven and Black dog.

I can't select one because for me both the 60s and 70s were the best decades.
