i could have any number of beatles and/or elvis albums in my top list but i cant put one ahead of another, lots of them have their merits to be worthy tho.
the same for 'best of' albums..elvis and the beatles have had some fine collections.
'live' albums, again, elvis had several, '68comeback,aloha,on tour,in concert.

so that is primarily why elvis and beatles miss out for me

Surely there are many other live albums that award some merit - even if you are a huge Neil Young fan. One that springs to mind automatically is Pink Floyd - The Wall 1980-81. Also, The Clash - From Here to Eternity and Led Zepellin's How The West Was Won.
Got some time on your hands? Or wanna check out new (or old) music? Come have a read - http://www.wecalleditmusic.com/

Good choice, CH !

I think The Beatles and Elvis are in a separtate category by themselves along with Pink Floyd IMHO !!!

^^I'll go with Electric Warrior ............it's good to see a Marc Bolan fan !
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

I need to recall Moby's Everything Is Wrong. I heard all the way through. It does not age. This is a favorite ten years ago. I will replace it.
