It's impossible really as there are genres of music out there that you haven't even heard yet! Out in the jungle man.

Hi Emery, and welcome to MD.

There's no genre I can think of where I won't venture, but some like contemporary R&B are visited very infrequently.

Musical genres are all gleaming facets of the same diamond to me.

I want variety in my listening !!

It's definately all worth giving a chance, I like Country, folk, blues, jazz, classical, metal, rock, classic rock, indie styles, rap, dont like disney music(gross)

I would never claim to like all or dislike all of anything. I will admit that some stuff just sounds like noise to me. I'm not a fan of country or blue grass but I can see why other people are. The Hip-Hop side of R&B does not speak to me nor does what I know to be heavy metal or hard rock.

I do like enough different stuff that I can hardly afford financially or time wise to really keep up.

hey, good thread man! its got people agreeing/disagreeing, thats what its all about!

firstly, i dont believe in 'genres', its either good music that says something interesting or it isnt. simpe as that im afraid!
i'll listen to anything,if it moves me,i buy it, if it doesnt...i dont.
genres are loosely termed names given to artists and sometimes they are not justified but they stick..eg: one of my favourites, Neil Young, you'd call him a folk/country singer..correct?...but is he? he's recorded very little country/folk music in his career...yet the genre label sticks because of "harvest" album...he's done rock,ballads,rockabilly,blues,grunge,protest/political etc
the name "genre" is b#llocks!
