Seems that we have the third album and after an appearance on Jools Holland they have begun to break in the UK. Shame I didnât see them,...................... even though I watch Jools quite often!
A lot of this appealed to me nice simple sound and a melodic approach, gentle laid back sound
Track One: Factory:â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦This is one of those tracks that you are sure that you have head before somewhere! I found it easily accessible and great to relax to, could not help thinking about bands like the Eagles or similar when listening.
Track Two: Compliments : Nice bop-a-long track with that nice sunny feel vocal style. Melodic and stylish.
Track Three: Laredo :A good powerful beginning that made me want to find Loredo on Google Earth and see if it had a lakeâ¦â¦.Maybe like this track it would be long and cool.
Track Four :Blue Beard This is the kind of track that makes me want to listen ....it is relaxed and had a good lyric...........nice image conjuring which allows you to make mind pictures of he subject material...............this is what I believe music should be about....storytelling and fantasy.
Track Five: Way Back Home : Sitting on a warm day looking out of the window at the fields , trees and I lakes which make up the place I call home I could appreciate why someone wanted to write a song to conjure up memories of home. Is it just me or can I hear a Brian Wilson influence here ?
Track Six :
Infinate Arms : Title track of the album! Dreamy and light................ Well crafted song that makes one, have thoughts of nice times, good company and warms skies!!!!!!!!!!
Track Seven Dilly Different approach.............nice to see a band with a wide range of gears in the box..........Band of Horses are more than a one tune band.
Track Eight Evening Kitchen : Another nice track with a good feel to it.
Track Nine Older : I worked out who this band remind me of ............it is America ( Horse with no name etc ). They produce the same easy going music with a flavour of country.
Track Ten For Annabelle: I liked the guitar entry to this one( Shame its such a flat sounding model of guitar!) I can see a small fault with his band here......I wish they would fill out those harmonies a little more...........they have the potential to do so .
Track Eleven NW Apt: Heavier feel to this one.............no quite so stylish, but an album needs variety.
Track Twelve Neighbor : Final offering on this album.....a country beginning , a story in the song, builds slowly it has good lyrics but, for me it canât quite grip one........
A good album, not quite a classic yet , but I have a feeling it will grow on you as you listen more and more often.
