Hey everyone! Like I said in my intro post, I browse the web looking for new artists and here are a few of my "Artists to watch" from myspace. I really like there styles and really hope to hear more from them soon!!!!
First;
Olivia Bonilla
(If you haven't heard of her check her out she is gorgeous and talented!)
Second;
Raleigh Retherford
(Very small time but I really thought his lyrics were incredible! I hope to hear more from him soon!)
Third;
Against Myself
(Again, this is a very new artist but his songs rock! hope to hear more soon!)

Yet, Tegan and Sara have been around for 10+ years, so you weren't aware of them before?
True, their sound is different after The Con and now Sainthood, but there are glimpses of Sara's brilliance in the past 4 records. I may be able to give you my review on Sainthood at some point Music Head.

Nope, never heard them before this latest album.
May have heard of them in passing, but never heard them, so new to me.
I know, I know, "and you call yourself Music Head?"

Well to be honest, Tegan and Sara have been flying most under the radar until their recent success with the more radio-friendly records - Sainthood and The Con, so that is probably why there was a lack of those kinds of songs.
I guess a portion of my music does come from watching Tv and appreciating the music played on shows. One Tree Hill happens to revolve a lot around music and does happen to pull some major artists and give something back to survival artists like Gavin DeGraw, whose life was saved by the show. So many of them to name and although I heard a lot of them already, they did show me the success of New York and other indie bands around the States (because I don't get that kind of exposure down under!).

Something funny happened about that. I googled them and the cover of their album "abuse" is a face I recognized instantly: it's the face of a zombie from a classic horror film in my library: Burial ground!

Here my list of new discoveries this year:
- Knight Area (progressive band)
- Ozric Tentacles (psychedelic band)
- Hotel Costes (serie)
- Jeremy Soule (for the great Oblivion Soundtrack; now beginning a Morrowind game, so preparing to discover this soundtrack too)
Oh my God I'm gonna watch that one for sure.
