THE ZOMBIES ~ Different Game

When humans eventually colonize Mars, I’m not convinced this album will make it off planet Earth, but you know what? It’s a worthy offering from this bunch of geezers IMHO. LOL! Sorry – but they really are. Happy geezers. And I think that’s what it is – no angst of any description, just easy, somewhat jazzy listening. Colin Blunstone doesn’t sing as effortlessly as he once did, but his voice is still in decent shape and they really are super duper accomplished musicians, all round. Most importantly, they know about song structure which really helps things run along smoothly. With Rod Argent in the picture, there is bound to be a certain standard upheld as regards production, so my verdict is that while this album won’t set the world alight, if you feel like listening to something warm, comforting, and completely inoffensive, that sounds like an old friend – jump on in for the ride!
