Covid-19
451.8 million...

3.7 million increase in the last two days...

upto date stats meter: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/?%20

we here in West Australia recorded 3594 new cases yesterday and 4535 overnight.
sure glad its the relatively mild Omicron variant and not the original or Delta strains.

our State Government is giving every household 5 'RAT' (rapid antigen test) kits to use if necessary and when required.

WHO detects new strain of the virus in Europe,
this one is called "Deltacron",
not expected to be as deadly or serious as other strains which is why it hasnt been given its own Greek letter name.

3.8 million increase over the last two days, that seems to be the norm now.

a further 4500 cases here in West Australia, a drop of 10% from the previous day but experts say we will hit out peak infection rate over the next 10-14 days....

also,
the world has recorded its 6 millionth Covid death since March 2020 (damn!, Covid has been here for 2 years now, how time flies....)

558.6 million cases detected now...

(typo: should read 458.6 million!)

a 3 million increase over the weekend...
not trying to sound pessimistic or cynical but it is an established fact (here in Australia at least) that fewer people are getting testing on weekends so they do not interfere with their 'social lives', thus leaving testing to weekdays when on work time...
