What do you think is the best rock/metal instrumental of all time? This is a subjective question so I know we will all have different answers.. just wanted to know what you guys think the best of the best is when it comes to intrumentals.

a good instrumental metal song is Man Made God by In Flames
probly their only instrumental but The Jester's Dance has a good long intro with no lyrics thats amazing

While I'm not saying they make the best instrumental music, a band I like to listen to occasionally is 65daysofstatic.
Also, Bob Dylan's "Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid" is instrumental for the most part, and is pretty great. [URL="http://www.last.fm/user/OnionSkin/"]

Dream Theater always has good instrumentals
Steam of Conciousness and Erotomania always amaze me. As far as good melodic writing is concerned, I've always liked The Pilgrims Inn by The Flower Kings. Some of the best instrumental metal guitar writing ever. |
