Spotify listen:
another one i'd missed but crops up on a couple of "EOY best lists"
released back in March.
UK alt/indi-pop band.
eighth album but ive never heard of them??.
hearing lots of influences from T-Rex (im a wooden soldier), Stones (no rock save in roll), Nick Drake (england is a garden-instrumental), psychedelic pop, hints of Weller from his Wildwood pastoral sounds, maybe some Ten Years After/Small Faces in places.
some interesting intrument choices for a newish band also, apart from the usual theres: sitar, hammond-B organ, flute, tamboura, and some backwards guitar, so maybe a slight Beatle sound in places also.
a very, very good album IMO
MH you should listen to this one if you want to get away from your rap-crap for a day.
there may even be enough here to hold Ruby's attention.
