Sometimes those half-baked (pardon the pun) ideas can turn into the best meals. Much like music. I recall a lady friend who used to concoct the most amazing meals out of all sorts of odd ingredients. Off the wall stuff that was an absolute pleasure to savour. The meals, I mean. Problem was, she could never remember how she did it and as a result could never repeat it, no matter how much I pleaded.

^Lol! Sounds a bit like this household. Recipes are only best followed strictly when baking, in my experience - which is a challenge for me, otherwise cooking is a creative endeavour and much more fun that way.
Today we are having confused pumpkin soup. It has no idea yet quite what it wants to be when it grows up. One thing's for certain - it's going to be tasty - and spicy.

Sounds good! Save me a bowl.
My own flu remedy - just works for me - onion soup with loads of garlic and a handful of cayenne pepper.
Call it dyslexic alphabet soup.

^I think I tried that remedy of yours. Renders one speechless indeed! And effectively keeps vampires at bay. Lol! Seriously though - onions are great for breaking a fever and cayenne pepper is something I always have around - gives several otherwise mundane ingredients a good kick.

Nasi Goreng, an Asian rice dish,
(usually have it with seafood but decided to have it with chicken for a change (it tastes better with seafood IMO)

Tonight Chicken Kiev. Simple but I like it. And a small bit of Chateaux du Plonk on the side. Then going to settle down for a movie and early tomorrow morning immerse myself in Simon's Protocol CD collection. Bliss.

KFC, hot 'n' spicy with slaw, fries and gravy, washed down with pepsi-max
not exactly the healthiest meal but I can tolerate it every now and then.

Salmon Mornay with cauliflower and sweet potato...
the mornay sauce obviously goes well with Tuna and Lobster but not with Salmon, I'm thinking its because the others are very mild and need the flavour.

was watching a cooking show last might featuring a chef from Louisiana, she was cooking a local speciality, Succatash….
i'd never heard of it so I decided to give it a go for dinner tonight with beef ribs.
wont be cooking it for another two hours as Dani doesn't finish work till 8pm today.

Tried the Succatash, loved it, wrote down the recipe for a return at some point.
