LOL, I was saying the same thing to Dani this morning also.
And as bad as that situation is I thought is was a pleasant change from the C-19 crap.

so, several of our States opened up this week and already Victoria has had 11 new cases over the last 24hrs after getting down to zero prior to opening.
lets go back to the US now, California opened up last week and new cases have spiked there already also.
this is happening way too early folks.
that said, cafes re-opened here yesterday, today Dani, myself and one of her daughters had lunch out, was so nice to go out and simply order some food and a coffee.

^Yep - our numbers are going up too, I've given up trying to analyse it all. Apparently we have, or have had, among the most draconian C-19 rules on the planet. Doesn't seem to be helping a lot - probably because we also have a population who are largely not law abiding and a huge amount of black market specialists. People have been arrested for ridiculous reasons though - a little bit of power in the wrong hands is a very dangerous thing - was always going to be a bit of a mess!
Back to work tomorrow for most of us, with many hoops to be jumped through in order to be able to go about your business with impunity, unless you're in certain sectors which seem not to have many restrictions worth mentioning placed on them at all. It's bizarre.
I have a friend whose son is in Vietnam - now that's interesting. Not a single Covid-19 death so far, and there are 97 million people. They only have 50 something active cases. They were in hard lock down for a while, with stringent track and trace measures in place. Who knows what the right approach to all of this is/was/should have been!

just like that
and covid-19 disappears from the morning news
good to see the rioters are wearing masks though
To me, this just goes to show how bad off the planet truly is, that something else awful has to happen in order for there to be a new top story in the news. When was the last time that something positive was the top news story? Of course one person's definition of positive will not mirror another person's definition of positive.

the stats to 6th June 2020:
7 million worldwide infections to date:
Global deaths just topped 400,000 and accelerating (took from January to early April to reach 100,000. now 300,000 - 400,000 in the last 23 days)
experts in Europe believe the infection rate could actually be nearly 10 million as the testing facilities in a lot of countries, namely third world countries, arent as up to date as the developed world

Looks like the infection rate is starting to increase south of the equator. Not a good sign. And as for the infection rate - it's way past 10 million. Many countries aren't even bothering to report stats correctly. This is going to be around for a while and life is going to be different from now on. And the economy is going to take a long time to recover. Many businesses will not. Travel companies are trying to lure people into booking holidays abroad but people aren't biting. A lot of them have lost their jobs anyway so they don't have disposable income to blow on holidays. They're too busy trying to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads. Everyone seems to think this thing is over - BIG mistake!

we have had partial re-openings over the last three weeks, this week cafes, cinemas, gyms, pubs, restaurants etc were allowed to open (300 maximum people),
since this has gone to Phase-3 this week weve had 31 new case here in West Australia.
way to early to re-open IMO, but hey, who am I?
and it doesn't help the situation with all these bloody protesters gathering in the thousands at the moment neither.
another thing:
when this virus first appeared all our governments/medic experts were saying we would all be in lockdown for all of 2020 with restrictions easing over 2021 so how come within three months we are all almost back to normal???
