I thought I knew everything about smooth/pop/soul tunes until I was introduced to the strangler Golden Brown and the genre Boroque pop. Who else should I listen to in that genre?
I am all about sharing the mental state we experience while listening to music.
My favorite artist: Same Cooke
Favorite album: Sam Cooke Live at the Copa

Welcome to the forum.
I don't think I would classify The Stranglers as baroque pop but that track might lead one to think so.
Are you familiar with Michael Kiwanuka? Another young man with a lot of soul ...

welcome to the forum....
we'll break you in slowly for your first time....
like Ruby, I don't necessarily agree with "golden brown" being Baroque Pop, that said, if that's your opinion that's fine by me...
I remember the song getting released back in 1982 and at the time thought is was as close musically, vocally to Paul McCartney as
someone could get, even the melody is right up Macca's alley...
Sam Cooke, a musical legend for sure....
