only thing I know of John Prine is his 1976 album "bruised orange" which I love...
this is the 71 year old's first album of original material in nearly fifteen years since
his cancer operations/chemo....
his voice sounds tired and weary, much like John Cash on his American Recordings albums...
his voice is also more gravelly and deeper than I remember it to be but it is still distinctly 
John Prine....
the melodies in the songs are similar to those on Bruised Orange also...
all up, a pretty darn good album, and one on my "to purchase" list.
