On the show Adam was so on/off for me. When I liked him, he was so excellent. When I didn't, he was so bad. As expected, left me with a can't decide. Paula certainly had the hots for him though. Haven't heard this but I'll check it out.

Although mostly known for their stage antics and novelty songs, they also had a serious side which I appreciated. Absolutely love Sylvias Mother.

Bowling For Soup - Sorry For Partyin'



Although I don't own anything by these guys, everytime a new album comes out, I hear something I really like on it. This one, their 7th, is no exception. Formed in Texas in 1994, the band keeps on pluggin' away. Although at times the juvenile humor, when done by middle aged men, wears thin pretty quick (maybe my age), the catchy hooks still pull me in.

I like this album.

The much over used Philly soul tag is running rather thin for me by this point. Actually it expired about 3 albums deep. Although this album, their 13th, was a success, reaching #24, with the single of Everything Your Heart Desires peaking at #3, nothing really grabs me. My fav,tough between tracks 3 and 4. Had to go with the sax intro in 3, but the vocals in 4 are better. In fact the sax on this whole album is pretty cool. The album did reach platinum status, but no other singles could make a dent. It was still a low point in sales compared to previous efforts.

I do not like this album.

A roller coaster for the Divine lady. Stage, film and music. Ups and downs in each one. This second album was a down from her debut and barely held up for me. Never one for original material, the choices here were all over the board. Barry Manilow had yet to go on his own and handled most of the production chores here, along with the keyboards. A cover of Dylan's I Shall Be Released just should not have happened. That's just wrong. Covering classics from the big band era works for me. No vid of my fav, the Johnny Mercer standard, Drinking Again.

Beach Boys - Greatest Hits Vol. 1 - 1999



How do you pack this much fun into this many 2 minute songs? And this is just Vol. 1. Too bad I don't own Vol. 2 yet. Only thing missing on here from that period that should be here is In My Room and Don't Worry Baby. Why would you leave those off of here Capitol? All these great 60's songs and you put Kokomo on here. I do have the vinyl stuff, but this is a cd. Beach Boys had the misfortune of the Beatles to compete with, and still managed to hold their own. How can those few simple lyrics of Surfer Girl sound so good? Thirty years later and those harmonies are still awesome.
