sorry or the late welcome Fuzz....

I initially joined for the same reason mate...a small forum, also because most of what was discussed was hallway intelligent with people discussing music and not things like 'what hair style Bieber has this week' or 'who's designer dress Rihanna is wearing' etc etc

and with a small community you actually become part of 'the family' when people get to know you and you make friends here

It came to me with a shock just recently that it's about nine years since i joined my first online music forum, which was the Unofficial PTF (Porcupine Tree Forum). I am still a member there... since then I have joined several other music fora and have quit, or become inactive in, about half of them.

Yeah, like Crazy Horse said, I like how it seems to be a small community with one pub, and not a constant flow of celebrity tabloid brain damage.

I think my only complaint about this forum is that there are no notifications when other members quote you in a post.
