Paul Simon "stranger to stranger"
Spotify listen:
ok, im not really a big an of his music as a rule,
but I did love "graceland" and "rhythm of the saints" albums...
this was a deliberate pick as opposed to a random pick because
I deserve to hear something new that isn't terrible after the last
few ive listened to...
some nice drum/percussion rhythms on this one, not unlike
the above two albums I mentioned....
there is some of the old melody sounds in there...
I wouldn't call it rap but there is a bit of rap style ghetto stuff happening
on a couple of tracks...
one instrumental on here and one track called "the clock" which is, for
the most part., the sound of a clock doing what a clock does....
I think hes trying to be too clever and relevant to the modern music scene
just like McCartney with his last effort called "new", and IMO,
and like the Macca album theres only three maybe our tracks I like....
it doesn't work, it just makes them look like fools stumbling around
in things that they don't belong in...
not really my thing but Paul Simon fans may embrace it.
